Privacy Policy

Oubaitori stores the account details needed to run your private account, along with the tracker and journal entries you choose to save. This can include mood ratings, anxiety ratings, health ratings, sleep windows, gratitude entries, friction notes, dream entries, highlights, activity notes, quotes, and saved entries for books, movies, TV series, and music.

Your entries are used to show the app dashboard, tracker history, monthly spreads, and account settings. Oubaitori is a private-by-default product: there is no public feed, follower system, leaderboard, or public profile where your journal entries are displayed. Operational logs may be used to keep the service reliable, investigate errors, and understand whether product flows are working as intended.

Oubaitori may use privacy-conscious product analytics to understand visits and sign-up flow health. A first-touch cookie lasts 30 minutes and records an approved public landing path, a broad source category, an optional recognized referral host or campaign identifier, and a random journey identifier. It does not contain search terms or URL query values.

For newly created accounts, we keep account-owned timestamps for signup, onboarding completion, the first measured successful save, and a save on a later local date. A local date is retained only to distinguish a later-day return. These records contain no journal text, ratings, quantities, or tracker selections, and are eligible for erasure with product data 30 days after account deletion. Browser analytics use public-page events and random identifiers; private entries and account identity fields are not included.

Support requests sent through the signed-in support page or by email are used to respond to the request and improve reliability.

If you separately subscribe, we use your email address to send product updates, feature announcements, and journaling articles. Creating an account or accepting our terms or this policy does not subscribe you to marketing emails. Updating this policy does not subscribe existing users.

When you choose email updates during onboarding or in Settings, we record your account ID, verified primary email address, the time and source of your choice, and a version of the consent wording. We also record enrollment attempts and their outcome. These records are evidence of your choice, not a live copy of your subscription status. We retain them while your account exists and erase them with product data 30 days after account deletion, on the next scheduled run.

We use Resend to deliver these emails and manage subscriptions. Resend processes recipient email addresses, message content, and delivery and subscription records, such as delivery failures and unsubscribe requests. We do not include your private tracker or journal entries in product-update campaigns. Changes to your account email do not subscribe the new address. We review already-enrolled contacts for account deletions and email changes before broadcasts; this cleanup is handled separately from automatic deletion of your Oubaitori data. You can use the unsubscribe link at any time without waiting for that review.

When open tracking is enabled, an email includes a small remote image that records an open event when loaded. When click tracking is enabled, links pass through a Resend-managed redirect that records the click before opening the destination. These events can be associated with your recipient email address and include event times and clicked links. We use this information to understand email delivery and engagement and improve future updates. Email software may load images or follow links automatically, so these events do not reliably show whether you read an email or used Oubaitori.

You can unsubscribe using the link in any product email, or write to office@oubaitori.me to ask about your subscription or email records. Unsubscribing stops future marketing emails without affecting your account. Blocking remote images in your email client can prevent some open tracking; it does not disable tracking of links you click. Reading this disclosure does not itself grant permission for email tracking where separate consent is required.

Gentle reminders are off until you enable them on a device. Oubaitori then stores an encrypted browser push endpoint and that device's timezone so it can send on your selected days and local time. Scheduled reminder messages contain no payload; the installed app supplies the same private, generic wording. A manual test sends only a fixed test marker so it can be labeled clearly. Reminder delivery never examines journal entries, tracker completion, device names, or browsing details. You can remove one device or turn reminders off everywhere from Settings.

You can delete your account from Settings. You'll lose access immediately, reminders will stop, and we'll sign you out. Tracker, journal, book, and media entries are deleted after 30 days. Support requests and basic service records are deleted after 90 days. Because deletion runs daily, removal may happen on the next run after those periods. Your sign-in with Clerk is kept separately. If you sign in again later, Oubaitori creates a new account without your old entries. Deleted data may remain in backups until they expire. If a backup is restored, these deletion rules are applied again before the app is made available.

Oubaitori uses third-party services for authentication, hosting, observability, analytics, optional media search, and browser push delivery. Resend provides optional product-email delivery and subscription management as described above. The app only sends the information required for those features to work. Media search results from providers such as movie, music, or book databases are used to help you fill entries faster.
